  1. Great recommendations, and just in time as I will be taking a brief vacation and was looking for a few good reads. Goodbye To All That is a must read for my wife, and I will be diving into The Tatooist of Auschwitz as soon as I settle into my seat on the plane.
    Thank you!!!

    1. I’m glad you found this post timely, Rob. Hope you enjoy The Tattooist of Auschwitz as much as I did! Mary

  2. This was one of my favourite posts ever! I read them all voraciously and enjoyed the book reviews so much. I have read a couple of the books and have to say that Educated was quite compelling. Along the same lines as Educated, I recommend Where the Crawdads Sing. It doesn’t disappoint. You again see a girl self-educating and flourishing in life on her own terms.
Thank you for these great book reviews and I will pursue these other books.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Sue! I’m so happy you loved this post. I’m trying out new posts and it’s great to get feedback like yours. Educated is one of my favorite books of all time for how well-written and real it is. What a glimpse into a world we might not know exists. It’s required reading for incoming freshman at Harvard this year. I have Where the Crawdads Sing on hold from the library and I can’t wait to read it. I’m also reading The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead now and will pick up the sequel. Been reading a lot of books about the south these days and thinking about you! xo Mary
