Here are some options to consider when choosing a backpack:
- Size: Bigger if you want to use it for work or school; smaller if it is more of a purse
- Material: Leather and canvas are more durable than cloth

- Detachable Straps: Some flat-bottomed handbags have straps to convert the purse into one you can carry on your back – it’s basically a 2-in-1
- Ergonomics: Having a backpack means you can even out the weight you are carrying and improve your posture (assuming you don’t sling the backpack over one shoulder!)
- Packability and Weight: Backpacks made with softer and thinner leathers or materials can be folded and collapsed — and come in handy for travel
- Bling: Backpacks with studs or chains are practical while make a fashion statement
- Designer: Almost every designer has a backpack out this fall, so if you favor a brand, check out their version of the backpack
